Style Mood Board...

Mood post

I've been a vintage lover for as long as I can remember, I've always adored all things classic and well.. vintage.  But what really inspired me to do this post was seeing some films quite recently which were based mainly around the 50s and 60s.
I especially love how women's style from this era was so feminine and elegant.

If only I could travel back in time and live in one of my favourite eras...

Hopefully this post gives you inspiration or some enlightenment.  I honestly wish I could dress like they did all the time.

I'm Lovin' It

I was debating about what I should do for my next blog post and then remembered that I haven't done a 'favourites' post in quite a while.  So there you go! There's the background information on what inspired me to do this for you today.

1. One of the things I've been really getting into lately is self-tan.  Yes, I know when most people think of fake-tan they think of orange, patchy looking skin.  But if you get the right colour, prepare your skin correctly and apply it evenly, you shouldn't have any problems really.  My friend got me the St. Tropez tanning kit for my birthday, which I probably would have never thought about purchasing myself as I've heard its quite pricey, plus I haven't used self-tan much in the past.  So I wouldn't say I'm a legit self-tanning pro or anything.
The kit came with a tanning mitt, the tan itself (obviously), an exfoliator and a moisturizer.  I must add that all 3 products smell AMAZING.  I know that some fake-tans can smell a bit odd but this one and the other products smell sooo good, just trust me.  The colour itself appears quite natural and doesn't appear patchy if you apply it correctly and prep the skin, like you should do with all tanners!  I love how healthy my skin looks afterwards and how it makes me feel like I've just came back from a holiday abroad.
(I would have photographed the entire kit but the other products were in separate room and frankly, I just couldn't be bothered to go in there.)

2. Next on the list we have the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.  I know I'm a bit late on the bandwagon with this, but better late then never aye?  This stuff seriously is the best makeup remover I've ever had! It dissolves everything which I love, as previously I used to annoyingly have a separate remover for my eyes, and then a separate for my face.  But this takes of everything.  Plus I think the price is great considering how much product there actually is inside of the bottle.

3. I was looking for something new and different to add to my every-day makeup look, when I discovered this pretty teal coloured eyeliner from Miss Sporty.  I imagined it would be good for applying on my lower lash line/water line to add a pop of colour to an otherwise boring look.  Plus it compliments my eye colour, I believe.  I think its nice to step out of your comfort zone sometimes and try something new.  I do understand that wearing a different coloured eyeliner isn't exactly the most daring thing a person can do, but I think it was time for me to step away from the usual black/brown makeup.  Lastly, it was really cheap so I thought: why not?

4. I believe that everyone should have the right to buy as many lip products as they want.
But seriously, I did actually need a nude lip colour as (believe it or not) I have never had one in my collection!  Nude lip colours are great as they go with absolutely any look.
I purchased the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in the shade 'Shooting Star' because I'd heard so many good things about this range so I thought that I must check them out too!  I would say that this lacquer is between a lipstick and a lip gloss as its not very shiny and has quite a thick consistency which is good I guess as its very pigmented, meaning that a little will go a long way.  But of course, you can always add a clear gloss over the top if glossy, reflecting lips are more your thang.

5. Again, this is another product which I've heard good reviews on.  So as it was cheap, (you're starting to realize that everything I buy is most-certainly always cheap) I thought I'd try it as I've never had a product quite like this before.  I would describe this as a blusher/highlighter which gives a nice healthy glow to the skin, perfect for summer! Also, this product will most-likely suit every skin tone; especially pale skin like myself.

Hope you've enjoyed this post!
