Winter Essentials YOU Need!

Hello and Merry Christmas to you all!

I've put together a short list of products that are essential to me at this time of year, and some of them are brand new discoveries for me which I would not have discovered if it wasn't for others recommending them, so I feel as if I should pass on the word too.

~This is in no particular order~

1. Vicks First Defence- This has been an absolute god-sent for me this month!  Its perfect if you feel the first signs of a cold coming on, whether its in your nose or your throat, this nasal spray will destroy it in a matter of days before it gets worse!  You can purchase this at your local drug store/supermarket.

2. Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil- Another staple for me this month has been this oil.  If you're a regular reader which I doubt most of you are, you'd know from one of my previous posts that my skin hasn't exactly been in the best condition lately.  But this product has helped it get back on track by nourishing and absorbing into my skin deeply and rapidly (as it claims to do).  Even if your skin isn't as bad as mine was, this is still a great product to use to give your skin a little treat in these harsh weather conditions.  It truly feels as if it benefits your skin from the very first use.

3. Cream Blusher (Mac's LADYBLUSH)- I actually got given this as a second-hand gift from someone and this is the only cream blusher I own, not to mention the only thing I have from Mac so far.  But I'm just talking about cream blushers in general being beneficial in winter.  This is because they give a soft, dewy look to the cheeks which is great for combating the dry, dull skin winter gives most of us.  They are also really easy to blend and give a natural finish, but I'm sure most of you ladies know all of this anyway.

4. The Body Shop Coconut Shop Body Butter- Body butters are sooo good when your skin needs that little bit more richness and thickness out of a lotion, especially during December.  I also got given this as an early Christmas gift from someone, however this one is not second hand.  I love the coconut scent as well, which surprises me as I've never been a big fan of coconut previously but for some reason I really like the smell of this at the moment.  As for the actual effect it has on my skin, I believe that The Body Shop are one of the best for creams and lotions, so you kinda know what to expect when buying anything like this from there.

Thank you so much for reading,

May you have a very happy Christmas and New Year!

The 'Me Time' Tag

OOPS, I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE...I haven't actually been tagged to do this but I've recently seen YouTubers do the 'Me-Time Tag' and I enjoyed watching them so I thought why not bring it into the blogging world!  So hopefully you don't mind.. who cares anyway I'm still gunna do it as I'm dry for new post ideas, not gunna lie, not to mention I love answering questions for some reason.

What do you watch/read during me-time? I would say that I spend more time watching TV than I do reading books but who doesn't love a good John Green book, right?  At the moment I'm not reading anything as I'm awaiting some new books as Christmas presents hopefully.  For TV I like everything from Keeping Up With The Kardashians to Catfish to The Kitchen to TOWIE to The Apprentice, (although that's usually something the whole family watches) and a lot more.

What do you wear during me-time? Either pjs, sweatpants, or those really comfy, soft lounging trousers which can also be worn as pj bottoms but are sometimes too thick for bed, you ladies will know what I'm talking about.  All of the above are usually accompanied by either a soft jumper or a dressing gown and slippers if its cold.

What are your me-time beauty products?  You know what they say; home is where the makeup isn't!  So you won't find me with a scrap of makeup on during my 'me time' but I'll usually just have moisturizer on or If I really fancy it I'll put on/make a face mask.

Current favourite nail polish?  I'd been searching for Rimmel's 'caramel cupcake' for a while now and I finally found it the other week in Wilkinson's where it was priced under £3!  You can imagine my excitement.  It's the most loveliest nude colour and I just can't get enough of it.

What do you eat/drink during me-time?  Usually some sort of tea, such as green tea, white tea, or plain old black tea.  Or if its during the day I can be found with a bottle/glass of fresh orange juice WITH bits.

Current favourite candle?  I'm gunna have to pass on this question as I personally don't burn candles, maybe sometime in the future I will though.

Do you ever have outdoor me-time?  In the summer I do like to sit outdoors peacefully by myself, however It only takes approximately 2 minutes until I get attacked by some sort of insect or animal so I kind of get a bit scared being outside by myself for too long.

Would you ever go see a movie alone?  I've thought about this many times but have never actually got round to doing it, but the answer is yes I would if I wanted to see the movie that much.  Its so dark in there no one should notice anyway hopefully.

Favourite online shop?  I don't really do a great deal of online shopping myself (especially not for clothes) but if I do its normally Amazon or random websites that I find off of Google.

I don't nominate anyone in particular to do this tag, just anyone who's reading or comments is welcome to!

 Love,
geeeboo

This kinda messed up my skin...

When I first thought about writing this post, I imagined it would be a completely positive review saying about how much I was in love with this product, as that was truly how I felt about it in the beginning.  But I now know that I obviously didn't give it enough time to make it a reliable opinion as I now have slightly different feedback on this face scrub after using it for more than 1 day.

PROS- > Leaves a cooling sensation when activated which I find very appealing.
> Removes face makeup, dirt and oil (was extremely pleased as only drug store face wash I'd come across that removes makeup as well)
> Left skin feeling really smooth after first day of use.

......................................................................................................................

CONS- > Made skin feel itchy and irritated after 2nd day of use, whilst also creating flaky patches and the feeling of dryness/tightness.
> Claims to be a daily wash but I believe its too harsh for everyday use (especially when face is makeup free) and now that I've limited the amount of times I use this, my skin is gradually improving.
> Not ideal for sensitive skin.

Overall, I would say this scrub is a good one to use maybe a couple of times a week instead of everyday as I believe that unless you have quite a thick application of makeup before you use it, or your skin is already quite capable of strong products then it may cause irritation.
My skin is still recovering from first using this product just a few days ago, I did think that maybe if I kept using it my skin would get used to it but sadly that was not the case.  It seems as though it's had a long lasting effect on me :'( #prayformyskin

Cost- around £3.99

If you end up trying this product or have had it in the past please comment your views on it!

All the best,

Getting over 'him'...

The thumping heart, the screwed up head, the constant thoughts of them, the unsaid words, I could go on and on; the point is we all know the feeling of heartbreak.  Some may describe it as one of the worst feelings in the world, much like the 'when you put your phone on charge but later find out that you forgot to turn the switch on' kinda feeling.

But there comes a point where we have to stop mourning the relationship, pick ourselves back up and start moving on with life again.  (Easier said than done, I know.)
I've recently found an article that included some very useful information and advice, which helped me out a lot and made me realize what is reality and what is not.  Here is my interpretation of it, I hope it helps you too!

The truth is...
You don't miss HIM, you miss what you WANTED HIM TO BE.  After a break up we tend to forget all the negative things about our ex, especially if you were the one who was broken up with and is hurting. And we only focus on the memories when we were happy, to a point where we sometimes even forget why the two of you broke up in the first place.  I am certainly guilty of this next one; we make up scenarios in our heads and things about them which aren't true, making us believe that we are still in love with them.  When in fact that's not the person they are at all, its the person you wish they were.
But you should know that this person is a fantasy and not your real-life ex.

Yes he may have made you feel like no other person did and he may have said those things which made your heart melt.  But all while this was happening your mind only focused on the good things and you didn't notice all of the other stuff that was happening.  Meaning that you were basically blinded by love, as they say.  You will only get over him when you recognize that who you are missing is nothing but a ghost.

As soon as I learnt this it put everything into perspective and I basically knew in that moment that I was over him... the real him.

#knowyourtruth

Best wishes,

First Day, 1 word: Eeek!

Battling pre-college/school jitters...

Hands up if you're about to start high school, or has recently left school and is now starting college?

I for one am also starting college soon and I can tell you that I am extremely nervous, as you probably are too. But let me assure you that its completely normal to feel anxious or unsure about any new era in your life, its part of human nature.
So to help you (and myself), I have put together some tips and advice which will hopefully help you calm those first-day butterflies.

> Remember that everyone else is just as nervous as you are!  I know this a cliche one, but its seriously true.  It always puts me at ease when I remember this, as it assures me that everyone is literally in the same boat-  therefore why should I feel anxious?

> College/High School is full of new and exciting people!  Especially if you've had bad experiences at your previous school(s), remember that this is your chance for a fresh start and it will allow you to meet people you've never encountered before in your life!  Try to introduce yourself to as many people as possible, the relief from making a friend is just what you need.

> If you've already been through High School, remember how you felt on the first day of starting and how that over the following couple of days you felt more settled and realized that it wasn't much different from your previous school.

> Try not to drink caffeine on the morning of the first day!  (This goes for any event that you feel nervous about)  For some reason caffeine can make you more jittery and shaky; therefore it will definitely not keep your nerves at bay.  You don't wanna appear/feel more nervous than you actually are, right?

> Prepare the evening before!  This way you're not rushing around in the morning and accidentally forgetting something.  Trust me, I've learned the hard way.  Create a checklist and make sure you have everything you need for the following day.

NOTE: we're all in this together! (HSM pun not intended)

Thanks very much for reading!  If you have anything you'd like to share about this topic, It'd be much appreciated if you commented below.

Style Mood Board...

Mood post

I've been a vintage lover for as long as I can remember, I've always adored all things classic and well.. vintage.  But what really inspired me to do this post was seeing some films quite recently which were based mainly around the 50s and 60s.
I especially love how women's style from this era was so feminine and elegant.

If only I could travel back in time and live in one of my favourite eras...

Hopefully this post gives you inspiration or some enlightenment.  I honestly wish I could dress like they did all the time.

I'm Lovin' It

I was debating about what I should do for my next blog post and then remembered that I haven't done a 'favourites' post in quite a while.  So there you go! There's the background information on what inspired me to do this for you today.

1. One of the things I've been really getting into lately is self-tan.  Yes, I know when most people think of fake-tan they think of orange, patchy looking skin.  But if you get the right colour, prepare your skin correctly and apply it evenly, you shouldn't have any problems really.  My friend got me the St. Tropez tanning kit for my birthday, which I probably would have never thought about purchasing myself as I've heard its quite pricey, plus I haven't used self-tan much in the past.  So I wouldn't say I'm a legit self-tanning pro or anything.
The kit came with a tanning mitt, the tan itself (obviously), an exfoliator and a moisturizer.  I must add that all 3 products smell AMAZING.  I know that some fake-tans can smell a bit odd but this one and the other products smell sooo good, just trust me.  The colour itself appears quite natural and doesn't appear patchy if you apply it correctly and prep the skin, like you should do with all tanners!  I love how healthy my skin looks afterwards and how it makes me feel like I've just came back from a holiday abroad.
(I would have photographed the entire kit but the other products were in separate room and frankly, I just couldn't be bothered to go in there.)

2. Next on the list we have the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.  I know I'm a bit late on the bandwagon with this, but better late then never aye?  This stuff seriously is the best makeup remover I've ever had! It dissolves everything which I love, as previously I used to annoyingly have a separate remover for my eyes, and then a separate for my face.  But this takes of everything.  Plus I think the price is great considering how much product there actually is inside of the bottle.

3. I was looking for something new and different to add to my every-day makeup look, when I discovered this pretty teal coloured eyeliner from Miss Sporty.  I imagined it would be good for applying on my lower lash line/water line to add a pop of colour to an otherwise boring look.  Plus it compliments my eye colour, I believe.  I think its nice to step out of your comfort zone sometimes and try something new.  I do understand that wearing a different coloured eyeliner isn't exactly the most daring thing a person can do, but I think it was time for me to step away from the usual black/brown makeup.  Lastly, it was really cheap so I thought: why not?

4. I believe that everyone should have the right to buy as many lip products as they want.
But seriously, I did actually need a nude lip colour as (believe it or not) I have never had one in my collection!  Nude lip colours are great as they go with absolutely any look.
I purchased the Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquer in the shade 'Shooting Star' because I'd heard so many good things about this range so I thought that I must check them out too!  I would say that this lacquer is between a lipstick and a lip gloss as its not very shiny and has quite a thick consistency which is good I guess as its very pigmented, meaning that a little will go a long way.  But of course, you can always add a clear gloss over the top if glossy, reflecting lips are more your thang.

5. Again, this is another product which I've heard good reviews on.  So as it was cheap, (you're starting to realize that everything I buy is most-certainly always cheap) I thought I'd try it as I've never had a product quite like this before.  I would describe this as a blusher/highlighter which gives a nice healthy glow to the skin, perfect for summer! Also, this product will most-likely suit every skin tone; especially pale skin like myself.

Hope you've enjoyed this post!

MY FAVOURITE YOUTUBERS

A selection of my favourite Youtubers... (trust me, there's many more)

I have been a fan of YouTube for as long I can remember.  I find it so weird and interesting how literally anyone can set up a camera, do anything they like and then thousands, sometimes even millions of people can view it. Studies state that kids these days spend more time on the internet than they do watching T.V. I am 100% a part of this as I know that I sometimes prefer to watch people on YouTube instead of watching T.V.  And I can honestly say that they're usually far more entertaining.  There are endless amounts and variations of videos you can watch on YouTube.  So today I am going to share with you some of the people / (some may say celebrities) that I enjoy watching the most.  What makes a YouTuber good?  For me, I like watching people who can either make me laugh,  give good advice,  make unique and interesting videos, or are talented in some way or another.  Even better if all of the above!

Disclaimer: This is in no particular order.

1)

This is probably one of the funniest guys you will ever see.  Kingsley's videos always put me in a good mood, even when he's ranting or talking about something negative he just brings so much energy to it and makes it feel in some way positive.  He does random videos on just about anything and everything, and sometimes does little comedy skits as well; which are some of my personal favourites.
If you enjoy laughing so hard it makes you cry, you'll love him.

2)

Even if you're not into makeup/beauty very much, Tanya's sweet and genuine personality will make you enjoy her company.  She just seems like such a lovely person and her videos always make me feel calm and happy.  Tanya gives great advice on things non beauty related as well, which I appreciate. And I just find her quite relateable and I love seeing what she gets up to in her vlogs, but then again that's probably just as I'm quite a nosy person. Also if you didn't already know, Tanya has released her own nail varnish and lip gloss collection which is now available in selected Superdrug stores around the country, so go check that out too!  Lastly, if you want tips/advice on anything from fashion - to beauty - to life from an everyday person, Tanya Burr is your gal.

3)

You may not have heard of Weylie, but that doesn't justify how chill she is. Even though some of her videos are similar to Tanya's, she really connects with the viewer and she appears to be quite an honest, down to earth person. Her (I guess you could call it) slogan is "I'm the sister you never had.....or the sister you never wanted. Haha"
And I honestly totally agree with that (not the never wanted bit lol), she really makes you feel as if shes your big sister by all the stories and advice she shares, whilst making you laugh at the same time.  I guess I also like her as I sometimes see a little bit of myself in her. (Again, making me feel like she's my sister).  Weylie doesn't take herself too seriously and she always makes me feel very at home when watching her videos.  Also, how she is in some of her older videos and her catchphrases kinda remind me of Raven Symone, y'know from the old T.V show 'That's So Raven'? (OMG DOES ANYONE ELSE MISS THAT PROGRAM LIKE CRAZY?) But seriously, if anyone thinks she reminds them of her too please let me know so I know its not just me...

4)

Not gunna lie, you probably haven't heard of this person either, this is because he's such a twat and no one likes him. Only joking Adam! ;o No but seriously now, if you're British and have a sense of humor then you'll love Adam.  I only say 'if you're British' as most of his jokes and the things he talks about are mainly relating to people who live in the UK. Which is brill' for some of us, but for others from other countries, you unfortunately might not get some of our banter.  Again, I enjoy watching his videos as he talks about and makes light of things that a lot of people my age go through and I must say, the guy is pretty good at accents.  Occasionally Adam can be serious, and when he is it seems like he genuinely cares and is appreciative of his viewers and believe it or not, he can also give some inspirational (and soppy ;)) advice.  But over all, he's just a genuine, funny, good looking guy- he's pulled.

5)

Even if you haven't watched her videos, you have most probably heard of this popular young lady named Zoe Sugg.  Again, her videos are in the same genre as Tanya's and Weylies, but I feel like I can closely relate to her as she and I both suffer from anxiety.  So I guess she helps me and inspires me with overcoming things in that area and I like to stick by her motto that she shares: 'Just Say Yes'.  I definitely look up to her and if it actually wasn't for her and Tanya, I don't think I would have ever even thought about blogging.  I enjoy her vlogs as well as they never fail to make me smile and giggle. To conclude, if you're feeling a bit blue or in a negative mood. Zoe's positivity and smile will help to get you out of it for sure.

6)

Sadly, Jeremy is taking a break from social media for a little while so at the moment there is no videos on his channel as they are on private.  But Jeremy has assured us that they will be able to be seen shortly.  Anyways, Jeremy attracted me as he is so damn attractive, and his videos were slightly different to any other guys videos' that I'd seen before, perhaps 'cause he's American and most of the guys I watch on YouTube are British.  I also die every time he ends his videos with "I love you, like a lot, k bye!"  So basically, if you're a straight girl, I warn you that you may just fall head over heels for Jeremy.  Lets just hope he gets back onto YouTube real soon!

7)

I must say that Morgan is the sassiest guy I have ever seen, yes, overtaking Kingsley!  His videos have me in stitches and I especially love his latest one with his little brother: TOO. MUCH. CUTENESS.  I feel like he says everything that I believe and agree with going from everyday situations, to pop culture.
Every time I watch his videos it makes me just want to be his best friend to be honest.  If you're a fan girl, you will adore Morgan.

8)

Sorry Adam, but Joe truly is the king of accent challenges! This guy can do just about any accent or impression. Plus his prank call videos are hilarious.  I admire how Joe always tries to do things slightly different to others and his videos aren't always predictable.  He's also very easy on the eye.

9)

Jack has been one of my faves for a long long time. He was probably one of the first people I watched on YouTube and I feel as if I've basically grown up watching him (wipes tear) haha.  Similarly to Joe, his videos are never predictable and some in particular have made me laugh so hard that it hurt.  I just love how Jack doesn't really care about what anyone thinks of him and in his words, is the only YouTuber who 'has let himself go' and is so relaxed on camera.  I have faith that he'll be a professional comedian one day; P.S. Keep trying Jack, you'll meet Ricky Gervais one day! ;)

10)

I would also say that Bubz was one of the first beauty YouTubers that I watched.  I remember the first video I saw was her 'high school makeup' look and I wanted to look just like her.  I definitely grew up with her over the years and she has taught me many things besides beauty too.  She makes me feel relaxed and at peace when watching as she gives off a chilled, positive vibe. I actually couldn't believe it when I found out that she's pregnant as it seemed like just yesterday she was this young, cute girl doing school themed videos (of course, you're still young and cute Bubz). In conclusion, she has helped me through my teenage years and most importantly; taught me that beauty truly does start from within.

That's it for a few of my all time favourite YouTubers.  As you can tell, I'm quite obsessed.  If you're not already I recommend you subscribing to all of these amazing people above ^^^.  I am so thankful for YouTube and would not be the person that I am today without it, (I know it sounds silly, don't judge me).

Before you click off, I want to give a special shoutout to this very cool dude that I met recently named Adam (TWITTER: @Balling_Panda). He is just starting out on YouTube and could use your support!  He doesn't have many videos at the moment but I can tell that there are many great ones to come. Wishing you all the best with your YouTube channel Adam!

Its so nice to be back from my 'Study Leave'. I have really missed blogging as you can see from my tweets.

See you in the near future!

Hasta luego!

Hi there,

Just wanted to inform you with this brief little post that I'm unfortunately not going to be blogging for a short while. This is due to my exams taking place starting Monday. (Honestly, I am bricking it.)

Don't worry, you probably won't even notice I'm gone!

I also want to apologize for my not-so-best posts recently, as you can guess I've been trying to balance both blogging and revision but its just not working out. Plus, you only really get 1 chance at your GCSEs whereas blogger will always be here for me, and hopefully you lovely people will still be here for me when I get back.
I can't wait to get out of school and back into my blogging game, dedicating more of my time to it.

So for now, goodbye!

'THE MOST USEFUL PRODUCT IN THE WORLD'

Whatever age you are, I'm pretty sure that you've used a good ol' pot of Vaseline at least once in your life. But I bet you didn't know all of the things that this wonderful product can actually do! You see/hear the name 'Vaseline' and immediately think of a remedy for chapped lips, right? But this product is so much more than that, and today I'm going to show you all of its other uses (some unusual and some life saving).

1.  Struggle opening stiff nail polish bottles? Rub some Vaseline under the cap to enable you to paint your nails the colour you actually want instead of opting for another one!

2.  To prevent lipstick transferring onto your teeth, dab a bit of Vaseline onto your teeth. Sounds gross, I know. Although, this actually a trick which beauty contestants use.

3.  If you're a fake tan user, to prevent those nasty streaks rub on some Vaseline on the dry parts of your body; backs of knees, elbows, hands, ankles etc.

4.  We all get annoyed when our perfume doesn't stick around. To maintain the scent, rub a bit of Vaseline on your wrists and neck before you spritz.

5.  To beat split ends in-between trims, firstly rub a little Vaseline between your fingers and then run through the ends of your hair. (But be carefully not to overdo it!)

6.  Have a big interview coming up? Don't worry about buying a fancy polish for your shoes. Instead, use some Vaseline to touch them up and make them look good as new!

7.  Prevent those shaming hair dye stains on your head by gently dabbing all over your hair line before hand.

8.  You can you it as an exfoliant- Just add sea salt and scrub a dub dub away in the shower! You'll come out feeling renewed and as silky as a baby's bum.

9.  Earrings can be a real pain to put in sometimes (literally). Place a little Vaseline on the pierced area and they should slide right in!

10.  Easily remove that leftover sticky glue from false eyelashes with a touch of Vaseline.

11.  Transform your eye shadows/blushers to creams by adding some Vaseline into the mix!

12.  Easy, cheap makeup remover- dab Q-tips/cotton pads into some Vaseline to remove your makeup, so that you can be fresh faced.

Of course, there are more uses for Vaseline but if I was to tell you about them all I'd be here all week!
The possibilities are endless...

I hope you found this post useful and I appreciate everyone who reads.
