A New Discovery

Hola readers,

I had previously heard a little bit about hot cloth cleansers online here and there but never actually went and tried one out myself, however I can now honestly say that I will never look back!  I was browsing through M&S con mi madre and she picked up a box of this hot cloth cleanser, it appealed to the both of us as its the first one either of us had seen in person, and considering it was only £10, she kindly decided to treat me to a box as well.  From what we could see, this was the only brand on the shelf in the store so I'm not sure if there are any others available.  But I believe this is just Marks and Spencer's own brand called: 'Pure Natural Beauty'.  I was seriously so amazed by the price of this though!  As normally M&S can be quite pricey, especially with beauty products, so this was a nice surprise indeed.

If you're not aware of what a hot cloth cleanser is exactly, it's basically a cleanser cream (usually good quality) which you massage into the face and neck as you would normally cleanse, then once you've worked it into the skin, you take the little cloth/flannel which comes inside the package, soak it with hot/warm water and polish the product off in circular motions to "reveal clean, radiant skin" as the instructions state on the back of the box.  The best thing about this is that it actually works for me!  I wasn't expecting to see many results from this because of the price and all, plus I'd never heard of it before, but I use this every 3/4 days and it gives my skin that pick-me-up boost that it needs.  Not to mention it makes my skin feel extremely smooth afterwards, I have to control myself from touching my face all night after I use this!
Another great thing about this product is that its eco-friendly.  Oh and it smells nice too, to me it smells quite lavender-y but I don't think that that's one of the ingredients in it so I'm not sure why I think that exactly...

To conclude, I really really like this product and I will probably continue to use it until I find one I like more.  I recommend it to anyone out there who hasn't tried it yet as I think its a brilliant, inexpensive way to give your skin a deep cleanse whilst still being gentle.

También, I thought since I began this post with 'Hola' I might as well carry on using Spanish words throughout.  In case anyone was wondering, I am not Spanish myself and neither is anyone else in my clan that I know of, I learnt the language when I was at school and now just enjoy using random español to make me feel/appear smarter and to spice things up I guess, lol. #yesijustsaidlol

Thanks a bunch for reading!  Or should I say muchas gracias?

Do Looks Seriously Matter???

Oh Hey!

I know, I know... its been a minute since I've posted on here.  The truth is, I've been putting off blogging like my mum has been putting off eating healthier.  Well actually, that's not entirely true... I didn't want to start off my next post with a massive essay of why I haven't been updating my blog, but to get to the point, my life has got a lot busier compared to what it was when I first started blogging and I've been kinda putting it off as well as I haven't had time to think of what I believe is good content and I absolutely despise forced posts, (writing and reading them).  So instead of writing about which products I've been loving lately or anything like that, I have decided to talk about a topic which I have a strong opinion on, and also which I've been asked about a few times.

The topic is appearance, in a relationship; does it matter? does it affect attraction? does it affect 'true love'? blah de blah de blah..

When I was younger I used to be quite shallow, if a guy looked a certain way I would automatically be attracted to them, and if they didn't meet the criteria I wouldn't have much interest in them, before I'd even acknowledged their personality.  It took me until not too long ago actually to realize that there are guys all over the place with different appearances and different personalities that I was in fact attracted to.  And now I don't have a 'type' at all really, I just base it on how they carry themselves, how they treat me, their personality, if they're funny- OMG if they're funny it makes a ha-uuuge difference and looks go pretty much out the window.  But basically if a guy has other amazing qualities, the good looks are just a bonus.  Yeah sure, it is harder to have a sexual chemistry with someone who you're not attracted to physically, but if their character wins you over or certain things about them not regarding looks does, like the way they present themselves, or their scent, or even if their voice sounds sexy to you!

I discovered one of my favourite quotes about appearance from a certain YouTuber, who I have watched since the dawn of YouTube, under the name 'bubzbeauty': Would you rather drink out of a pretty, decorated cup filled with piss? Or a cracked, ugly cup filled with your favourite drink?

Meaning its what's on the inside that counts at the end of the day...  Now I'm sure you've heard that one a million times before haha.

To bring this post to an end, looks do not matter to me, because you could be the most perfect looking supermodel in the world, but if you have an ugly personality I will not be attracted to you, full stop.

Readers are much appreciated,

P.S. I can assure you that there won't be such a long wait for the next post!

Winter Essentials YOU Need!

Hello and Merry Christmas to you all!

I've put together a short list of products that are essential to me at this time of year, and some of them are brand new discoveries for me which I would not have discovered if it wasn't for others recommending them, so I feel as if I should pass on the word too.

~This is in no particular order~

1. Vicks First Defence- This has been an absolute god-sent for me this month!  Its perfect if you feel the first signs of a cold coming on, whether its in your nose or your throat, this nasal spray will destroy it in a matter of days before it gets worse!  You can purchase this at your local drug store/supermarket.

2. Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil- Another staple for me this month has been this oil.  If you're a regular reader which I doubt most of you are, you'd know from one of my previous posts that my skin hasn't exactly been in the best condition lately.  But this product has helped it get back on track by nourishing and absorbing into my skin deeply and rapidly (as it claims to do).  Even if your skin isn't as bad as mine was, this is still a great product to use to give your skin a little treat in these harsh weather conditions.  It truly feels as if it benefits your skin from the very first use.

3. Cream Blusher (Mac's LADYBLUSH)- I actually got given this as a second-hand gift from someone and this is the only cream blusher I own, not to mention the only thing I have from Mac so far.  But I'm just talking about cream blushers in general being beneficial in winter.  This is because they give a soft, dewy look to the cheeks which is great for combating the dry, dull skin winter gives most of us.  They are also really easy to blend and give a natural finish, but I'm sure most of you ladies know all of this anyway.

4. The Body Shop Coconut Shop Body Butter- Body butters are sooo good when your skin needs that little bit more richness and thickness out of a lotion, especially during December.  I also got given this as an early Christmas gift from someone, however this one is not second hand.  I love the coconut scent as well, which surprises me as I've never been a big fan of coconut previously but for some reason I really like the smell of this at the moment.  As for the actual effect it has on my skin, I believe that The Body Shop are one of the best for creams and lotions, so you kinda know what to expect when buying anything like this from there.

Thank you so much for reading,

May you have a very happy Christmas and New Year!

The 'Me Time' Tag

OOPS, I HAVE A CONFESSION TO MAKE...I haven't actually been tagged to do this but I've recently seen YouTubers do the 'Me-Time Tag' and I enjoyed watching them so I thought why not bring it into the blogging world!  So hopefully you don't mind.. who cares anyway I'm still gunna do it as I'm dry for new post ideas, not gunna lie, not to mention I love answering questions for some reason.

What do you watch/read during me-time? I would say that I spend more time watching TV than I do reading books but who doesn't love a good John Green book, right?  At the moment I'm not reading anything as I'm awaiting some new books as Christmas presents hopefully.  For TV I like everything from Keeping Up With The Kardashians to Catfish to The Kitchen to TOWIE to The Apprentice, (although that's usually something the whole family watches) and a lot more.

What do you wear during me-time? Either pjs, sweatpants, or those really comfy, soft lounging trousers which can also be worn as pj bottoms but are sometimes too thick for bed, you ladies will know what I'm talking about.  All of the above are usually accompanied by either a soft jumper or a dressing gown and slippers if its cold.

What are your me-time beauty products?  You know what they say; home is where the makeup isn't!  So you won't find me with a scrap of makeup on during my 'me time' but I'll usually just have moisturizer on or If I really fancy it I'll put on/make a face mask.

Current favourite nail polish?  I'd been searching for Rimmel's 'caramel cupcake' for a while now and I finally found it the other week in Wilkinson's where it was priced under £3!  You can imagine my excitement.  It's the most loveliest nude colour and I just can't get enough of it.

What do you eat/drink during me-time?  Usually some sort of tea, such as green tea, white tea, or plain old black tea.  Or if its during the day I can be found with a bottle/glass of fresh orange juice WITH bits.

Current favourite candle?  I'm gunna have to pass on this question as I personally don't burn candles, maybe sometime in the future I will though.

Do you ever have outdoor me-time?  In the summer I do like to sit outdoors peacefully by myself, however It only takes approximately 2 minutes until I get attacked by some sort of insect or animal so I kind of get a bit scared being outside by myself for too long.

Would you ever go see a movie alone?  I've thought about this many times but have never actually got round to doing it, but the answer is yes I would if I wanted to see the movie that much.  Its so dark in there no one should notice anyway hopefully.

Favourite online shop?  I don't really do a great deal of online shopping myself (especially not for clothes) but if I do its normally Amazon or random websites that I find off of Google.

I don't nominate anyone in particular to do this tag, just anyone who's reading or comments is welcome to!

 Love,
geeeboo

This kinda messed up my skin...

When I first thought about writing this post, I imagined it would be a completely positive review saying about how much I was in love with this product, as that was truly how I felt about it in the beginning.  But I now know that I obviously didn't give it enough time to make it a reliable opinion as I now have slightly different feedback on this face scrub after using it for more than 1 day.

PROS- > Leaves a cooling sensation when activated which I find very appealing.
> Removes face makeup, dirt and oil (was extremely pleased as only drug store face wash I'd come across that removes makeup as well)
> Left skin feeling really smooth after first day of use.

......................................................................................................................

CONS- > Made skin feel itchy and irritated after 2nd day of use, whilst also creating flaky patches and the feeling of dryness/tightness.
> Claims to be a daily wash but I believe its too harsh for everyday use (especially when face is makeup free) and now that I've limited the amount of times I use this, my skin is gradually improving.
> Not ideal for sensitive skin.

Overall, I would say this scrub is a good one to use maybe a couple of times a week instead of everyday as I believe that unless you have quite a thick application of makeup before you use it, or your skin is already quite capable of strong products then it may cause irritation.
My skin is still recovering from first using this product just a few days ago, I did think that maybe if I kept using it my skin would get used to it but sadly that was not the case.  It seems as though it's had a long lasting effect on me :'( #prayformyskin

Cost- around £3.99

If you end up trying this product or have had it in the past please comment your views on it!

All the best,

Getting over 'him'...

The thumping heart, the screwed up head, the constant thoughts of them, the unsaid words, I could go on and on; the point is we all know the feeling of heartbreak.  Some may describe it as one of the worst feelings in the world, much like the 'when you put your phone on charge but later find out that you forgot to turn the switch on' kinda feeling.

But there comes a point where we have to stop mourning the relationship, pick ourselves back up and start moving on with life again.  (Easier said than done, I know.)
I've recently found an article that included some very useful information and advice, which helped me out a lot and made me realize what is reality and what is not.  Here is my interpretation of it, I hope it helps you too!

The truth is...
You don't miss HIM, you miss what you WANTED HIM TO BE.  After a break up we tend to forget all the negative things about our ex, especially if you were the one who was broken up with and is hurting. And we only focus on the memories when we were happy, to a point where we sometimes even forget why the two of you broke up in the first place.  I am certainly guilty of this next one; we make up scenarios in our heads and things about them which aren't true, making us believe that we are still in love with them.  When in fact that's not the person they are at all, its the person you wish they were.
But you should know that this person is a fantasy and not your real-life ex.

Yes he may have made you feel like no other person did and he may have said those things which made your heart melt.  But all while this was happening your mind only focused on the good things and you didn't notice all of the other stuff that was happening.  Meaning that you were basically blinded by love, as they say.  You will only get over him when you recognize that who you are missing is nothing but a ghost.

As soon as I learnt this it put everything into perspective and I basically knew in that moment that I was over him... the real him.

#knowyourtruth

Best wishes,

First Day, 1 word: Eeek!

Battling pre-college/school jitters...

Hands up if you're about to start high school, or has recently left school and is now starting college?

I for one am also starting college soon and I can tell you that I am extremely nervous, as you probably are too. But let me assure you that its completely normal to feel anxious or unsure about any new era in your life, its part of human nature.
So to help you (and myself), I have put together some tips and advice which will hopefully help you calm those first-day butterflies.

> Remember that everyone else is just as nervous as you are!  I know this a cliche one, but its seriously true.  It always puts me at ease when I remember this, as it assures me that everyone is literally in the same boat-  therefore why should I feel anxious?

> College/High School is full of new and exciting people!  Especially if you've had bad experiences at your previous school(s), remember that this is your chance for a fresh start and it will allow you to meet people you've never encountered before in your life!  Try to introduce yourself to as many people as possible, the relief from making a friend is just what you need.

> If you've already been through High School, remember how you felt on the first day of starting and how that over the following couple of days you felt more settled and realized that it wasn't much different from your previous school.

> Try not to drink caffeine on the morning of the first day!  (This goes for any event that you feel nervous about)  For some reason caffeine can make you more jittery and shaky; therefore it will definitely not keep your nerves at bay.  You don't wanna appear/feel more nervous than you actually are, right?

> Prepare the evening before!  This way you're not rushing around in the morning and accidentally forgetting something.  Trust me, I've learned the hard way.  Create a checklist and make sure you have everything you need for the following day.

NOTE: we're all in this together! (HSM pun not intended)

Thanks very much for reading!  If you have anything you'd like to share about this topic, It'd be much appreciated if you commented below.
