New Tea Obsession

White Tea

For as long as I can remember I have always had a strong love for tea, it started off with just regular black tea, then I slowly got introduced to green tea, and now white tea. All because I started Google-ing questions that'd I'd been wondering- Which tea is healthiest for you? Which tea doesn't stain your teeth? etc, etc.
By doing so I came across a tea which I had never ever heard of before: white tea. It was reported to be the only tea which doesn't stain your teeth, and proven to be the healthiest tea out of all teas. It has stronger anti-cancer properties than my old beloved green tea AND doesn't stain your teeth! What more could I ask for?

My love for white tea evolved before I'd even sipped a drop of it. So as you can guess, the next step was to buy some. Once I got home and tried it I could not believe how good it was. I was expecting it to taste pretty much exactly the same as green tea (as that's what it had said on Google) but it tasted much sweeter than green tea and almost like regular tea but without the milk and sugar of course. From then on I was hooked, I have at least 1 mug a day now and it fulfills the same need I have for the common black tea, whilst being so much healthier. I feel really relaxed and refreshed when drinking this, it also puts me at ease that it doesn't stain my teeth, as this is something I'm conscious of when drinking other teas.

As it says on the back of the box you can add whatever you like to white tea; milk/sugar.
You should be able to purchase it in most supermarkets and farm/organic shops. I got this box of bags from Tesco.
However, all good things come at a price... White tea is the most expensive tea you can get but its still affordable, I believe.

This has definitely become my new favourite tea and I just can't get enough of it recently! You'd be a fool not to try it! Why don't you comment your favourite tea? I'd love to hear from you.

Prom Dress ideas!

Secondary School is slowly coming to an end for some of us, which can only mean one thing... PROM.

Prom can be intimidating for some people, such as myself, but for others it can be one of the most exciting times of their life. Either way, we all want to have a good night, so here's a variety of beautiful dresses that I have found on the cheaper side, to give you some inspiration if you still haven't found your dress yet. Even if you left school what seems like 1000 years ago, these dresses are still a great choice for parties/other occasions.

Makeup in a hurry!

Are you familiar with frantically searching through your makeup bag looking for anything and everything to slap onto your face in the space of about 5 minutes before you have to head out into society, whilst hoping it'll turn out looking pitch-perfect? Yes I know the feeling, doing your makeup in a rush is a very stressful struggle. I'm here today to show you my go-to makeup regime when I'm in a hurry to get out the door.
This look is also great for school/work.

First apply a BB cream/tinted moisturizer to your face. This will help save time of vigorous blending and you can apply it straight from your fingertips! BB creams are great as they're so light they make your skin still look like, well.. skin! However they only give a little amount of coverage so if you need more feel free to go over with a concealer on your desired areas.

If you don't like using your fingers to blend, why not try a beauty blender? They're amazingly quick at blending and give the same natural finish as you would when using your fingers!

Now you can go in with your concealer, I use the Wake Me Up concealer by Rimmel to freshen/brighten up my face.

Then you might wanna dust it all in place with a powder, again by Rimmel, I use the Stay Matte powder which is fab-u-lous. For me, I definitely cannot leave this step out!

As eye shadow can be time consuming, we're going to skip this step. So this means that your eyebrows are even more important now. Filling in your eyebrows really frames your eyes and face, I believe that your makeup is not complete without it. Powder gives a more natural effect, but as we're in a rush remember, pencils are a lot quicker. Don't forget to comb your eyebrows through with a spoolie afterwards.

As there's no time for eye liner lets move straight to the lashes. I use the Natural Collection mascara, which I can honestly say I only bought because it was cheap.

Another thing you may have time for is to line your water line or the inner corners of your eyes. This will brighten up your eyes and make them stand out more. Again, this is also from Natural Collection, its cheap but does the job.

Finally, finish up with a pop of colour! A nice tinted lip balm like the Maybelline Baby Lips is always my go-to. A bright colour makes you look healthier, and your makeup more vibrant. The beauty of it is you don't have to be super precise as it isn't a lipstick nor lip gloss- so no faffing around with lip liners/blotting.

I hope you've enjoyed this post!
Many thanks,

My FAVOURITE new scrub!

Baby Blue

Recently, I've really been loving Nivea's products. I just love how skin-friendly all of their products are and also how affordable they are. So now, this new face scrub has been happily added to my collection.

My recent previous face scrub was very harsh on my skin, it stunk of quite an unpleasant soapy smell, and just didn't do anything for me. Therefore I ended up chucking away an almost full tube of it - even though I loathe wasting things. However it was a Tesco Value one which I didn't personally buy myself, but ended up using it anyway. In this case I'm not too surprised of the quality it was.

I looove this exfoliator as firstly, its gentle on my skin (hence the name 'Gentle Exfoliating Scrub' on the packaging). It doesn't have an unpleasant smell like the previous one, actually it doesn't really have any scent at all. The colour of the packaging, and the scrub itself is my favourite colour! (baby blue). Lastly it feels so soft/squishy and gentle when rubbing it onto your face between your fingertips. I don't know what makes it feel this way, but I've never had a face scrub like it. Even ones that have claimed to be 'gentle' as well. Nothing compares to this.
Finally, you can use it up to 2-3 times a week, which is great for me as I hate waiting like a week until I can get rid of dead skin cells. My skin just feels so much more fresh and re-newed when using scrubs more frequently. And as this isn't harsh at all my skin thankfully doesn't have to pay consequences for it!

I wish to continue using this until/unless I find another/better alternative. I totally recommend Nivea products as they are slowly starting to become my new favourite brand! Okay, maybe they can't completely over take my beloved Soap & Glory, but Nivea is definitely not far behind!

Thank you for reading! Much love,

Film Reviews

On one very lonely Valentines Day, I found myself scrolling through the Romance section on Netflix. In doing so I came across 2 films that I'd never heard of before. One being 'Like Crazy' and the other being 'Remember Sunday'.

I decided to watch 'Like Crazy' first for whatever reason, and I have to say that I was a little bit confused at the start of this film (but that's probably just down to me being my dopey self). However shortly after I just about gathered what was going on.

There were a few moments in the film which to me, came across a little awkward and left me sat there like 'this is gunna be a bit weird.' But I was actually pleasantly surprised towards the end of it. I found it quite relateable from a personal experience of mine, and I'm sure many of you will too if you've ever experience long-distance relationships.
It was also a lovely surprise seeing the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence in this as well which I had no idea about, (you can tell I appreciate the casting list on the front cover).

To view the trailer of this film (click here)

Brief description by Netflix:
An American man and a British woman fall madly in love while attending college in Los Angeles. But when she returns to London, their trust is tested, forcing them to confront the idea that their love may be impermanent.

I rate this film: ****

Now onto the next, 'Remember Sunday'.
I found the story line quite predictable and similar to others that I have previously seen. Although I did enjoy it, I just didn't like it as much as I did 'Like Crazy'.
Overall this is an interesting and in parts, emotional film that I would definitely recommend, in fact I recommend both of which I have reviewed today.

Brief description by Netflix:
Lonely waitress Molly meets a handsome and quirky man. Once she gets to know him better though, she feels that he is hiding something from her.

I rate this film: ***

Tanya Burr's Lips&Nails: Picnic In The Park

Picnic In The Park

I'm sure that most of you know who Tanya Burr is, but if you don't, she is a makeup artist/YouTuber who makes beauty videos/makeup tutorials and many other fun videos. Recently she has brought out her first ever collection of lip glosses and nail polishes, and me being a fan of her's I knew I HAD to try at least 1 of her products! You can purchase her products at feelunique.com (and soon to be some Superdrug stores across Britain) where there are so many gorgeous colours to choose from with a selection of adorable names.

Me being a typical girl, I couldn't decide which colour lip gloss to get... but in the end I ended up going with Picnic In The Park as I wanted a natural looking pink which I could include in my everyday makeup. Below are some picture's of the gloss itself and how it looks on the lips:

The lethal weapon-
I found the wand to be quite narrow and thinner than any I've ever seen before, although this doesn't bother me, it's just something that I noticed. I'm not sure if the picture really does this justice...
Also, I know its random but I really like how the lid locks onto the lipstick, it just twists really nicely into place. (I give you permission to call me weird)

The liquid stuff-
I love how the colour vibrancy is very build-able, depending on how much you apply it can look either quite sheer or quite bright. Tanya claims it to be long lasting, super moisturizing and comfortable on the lips. I agree that its long lasting, as it has probably lasted longer on my lips than any other lip gloss I've ever had. It is also the most moisturizing lip gloss I've ever had funnily enough, even after its worn off, my lips feel soft and smooth as if I had applied a balm before. I like knowing that whilst its making my lips look good, its doing good as well.
Lastly Tanya claims it to be comfortable on the lips (meaning non-sticky I presume). However, this is something I only agree with to an extent. As it is, I'm afraid a little sticky, but to be honest what lip gloss isn't? There isn't really a lip gloss out there that's not at least a little bit sticky, is there? But with that being said, its still the least stickiest lip gloss I've ever had- which is great! And it feels fine on the lips, nothing you wouldn't expect from a lip gloss.

Other qualities-
I'm not sure if its just me that thinks this, but the artificial strawberry scent reminds me a little bit of Calpol...
This is a bonus I guess depending on whether or not you like the smell/taste of the medicine.

The Price Tag-
£6.99 from feelunique

In Conclusion...
I like this lip gloss very much, and will hope to purchase more in the very near future!(and possibly a nail varnish or two as well)
I'm so proud of Tanya and everything that she has achieved, as much as I love her I'm not going to lie, I didn't know if these lip glosses were going to be as professional as regular drug store/high-end brands, but let me tell you they are just as good, if not better than the other lip glosses out there on the market. And I recommend you checking out the collection!

Thank you for reading- comment if you have already, or are thinking about buying something from this lovely collection!

Best wishes,

Valentines Day Blues...

Got the Valentines Day Blues?

Now don't get me wrong, I find Valentines day as cringe-worthy as the next person, but I still get a little upset every February 14th to be reminded that I'm ALWAYS alone for Valentines, and pretty much every other day of the year.

If like me, you're not sharing Valentines Day with a special someone, I have a few things you could do to make yourself feel some what better about this day, and where you, and your other single friends can still enjoy yourselves.

> Gather all your friends round your place- guys/girls, order a take away (this is making me hungry- you know how much I adore take aways) stick a film on, and just have a nice, chilled night in.

> Give yourself a pamper treat! Go and find any bath products you may have lying around the house such as bubble bath, bath bombs, face masks (you should find some left over from Xmas), or you can even look online at how to make your own using natural remedies! However if you cant be bothered to do all the research, I like using honey, green tea mixed w/ sugar, or natural live yogurt for quick home-made face masks.

> Watch your favourite comedy movie/TV show! Its guaranteed to make you feel 10 times better!

> SHOP 'TIL YOU DROP! Nothing makes me feel good like knowing I've just bought a whole load of goodies! Even if you don't buy anything, its just nice to get out of the house and browse for a little.

> Spend time with your family, showing how much you love and care for them. Maybe even buy them a little gift for Valentines instead?..

> Whenever I'm feeling a bit down or bored, I find that going on YouTube and watching either funny or beauty videos fixes it. You could even watch some makeup tutorials and try to recreate the looks?

> Studies say that listening to music at a high volume can stop people feeling depressed and is proven to instantly lift peoples moods. I 100% agree with this! So go ahead and BLAST DAT MUSIC!

> Ready, Steady, Cook- Look up some yummy recipes, perhaps something you've never tried making before: its always good to challenge yourself! Plus it'll take more of your time up. And you and your friends/family can enjoy some delicious food!

As always, thank you for reading! Hope you have a lovely day where ever you are this Valentines.
Mwah!
